MATHILDE M. VAN DITMARS

Thanks for visiting my website! I am a political sociologist, working as assistant professor at the University of Milan.

My research studies questions of political sociology, political behaviour, and gender and politics. It addresses how family origins, political socialization, and other life experiences impact citizens' political preferences and behaviour. I thereby often focus on differences and inequalities by gender, education, and social class. 

I hold a PhD from the European University Institute, and have previously held positions at the GESIS Eurolab, DIW Berlin, FORS at the University of Lausanne, Leiden University, University of Lucerne, University of Zurich.
